Wine road
According to the stories Romans have planted the first grape vine on gentle hills of Međimurje.
Today through this picturesque landscape, with over thousand hectares of vineyards, quality asphalt roads pass, that connect about thirty wine cellars and tasteries. In them You can try exquisite white wines (Sauvignon, Moslavac, Chardonnay, Graševina, Rhein Riesling, Pinot blanc, Pinot gris, Traminer, Sylvaner Green, Muskadel white…) and several red wines (Pinot noir, Cabernet sauvignon…)
Span of offers goes from high quality sort wines, to excellent predicate wines – ice wines, late harvest wines. With guided degustations in nicely arranged tasteries you can also try homemade traditional sliced cold meats.
Individual visit to cellars and tasteries is necessary to announce at least few hours before arrival. Wine road can be visited individually, by car, bicycle, or by foot, and organized tours can visit the road by bus as well as with special wine train.All approach routes and object themselves are marked with tourist signalization. Quality wines and arrangement of tasteries classify this wine road in the very peak of Croatian oenological offer. In the year 2007 it gained the title of the best tourist product of continental Croatia.
