Tourist zones of Prlekija & Međimurje
Expected results
Direct gain would come to all residents of area in existing and planned tourist zone. Increase of tourist flow would also increase possibilities for employment in tourist and service sector.
Municipalities Raskrižje, Ljutomer and Ormož on Slovenian side of the border and Municipalities Štrigova, Gornji Mihaljevec and Nedelišće on Croatian side of the border will be the users and co-owners of most results of the project.
Tourist infrastructure and public signs will be placed on appropriate places and public surfaces. In cases where infrastructure is in private properties, Municipalities have ensured consensus about permanent use of infrastructure for common tourist objective.Those who gain the most from the project tourist zones are the visitors of the area between Mura and Drava. They have up to now been focused only to one side of the border, and now will be able to cross the border outside of state border crossings.
Even though the weekly tourist flow between Slovenia and Croatia is good, with this project, attractiveness of tourist destinations and flow of landowners from both sides of the border will increase.
